Title: Math Talk: Promoting Equitable Mathematical Discourse
Description: How can I incorporate more mathematical discourse and inquiry in my classroom? There’s no sweeter sound than that of students honing, challenging and affirming mathematical ideas. Targeting K-8 classrooms, we’ll experience tasks that promote math talk in an equitable manner. In addition to the tasks themselves, we’ll examine specific ways to incorporate more visible math thinking, leading to productive mathematical discussions.
